I LOVE Minwax Stain Pens! I have all the colors and use them constantly. So constantly that I have actually run out. Did you know they are refillable? Yep, and it’s so easy too!
What you will need:
- An empty or used-up Stain Pen
- Rubber gloves
- Tweezers
- a small funnel or a plastic disposable syringe (like the kind you get with pet medicines)
- A small can of stain in the same color as the pen
- A disposable plastic cup tall enough to hold the pen upright
Step 1: Remove the cap from the Stain pen and with your tweezers, remove the fuzzy stain tip. Place the fuzzy stain tip on your table. (Hopefully you are doing this on a vinyl tablecloth or something that can get messy! If not, go do that now!)
Step 2: Place the stain pen in your plastic cup and position so that it stands upright leaning against the cup. (A little tilting is fine!)
Step 3: If using a funnel, insert the funnel and pour the stain into the funnel. Be careful not to overfill! It only holds 9.9 ml – you don’t need much. If you using a plastic syringe, insert the syringe into the can of stain and then pull plunger back to fill to 9 ml.
Step 4: Use tweezers and insert fuzzy tip back into the stain pen. push down on a piece of cardboard or paper a couple of times to get the stain into the tip and to make sure the tip is put in correctly.
